Peter Neyra
After earning my BEng in Civil Engineering at UCL—where I founded the Moonshot Launchpad incubator — I realized I needed to do more than follow old playbooks. I moved into innovation consulting, working with brands like Sony Music, Lacoste, and the NHS, running hackathons that translated cutting-edge research in neurogenesis, nutrition, and psychiatry into practical prevention tools. Yet I wanted to build things myself, not just guide others.
This drive led me to pursue an MA in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, supported by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851. There, I embraced physical computing, digital design, and fabrication. I learned to integrate sensors with platforms like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Bela, and became skilled with laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers, and metal/wood machinery. I exhibited my work at the London Design Festival, was shortlisted for the Terra Carta Design Lab, and tested an electronic drum prototype with Kokoroko’s drummer Ayo Salawu and composer Dru Masters. I make music for it’s own sake, too, having also performed as Chez Tito — blending house and jazz at Ninety One Living Room and Werkhaus for the Brick Lane Jazz Festival — keeping my creative spark alive.
My work bridges complexity and simplicity, technology and tangible impact, ensuring that good design doesn’t just solve problems — it enriches lives.
